About the artwork

In this work, Saadi’s verse unfolds across the composition through red letterforms and extended strokes. Soft white veils and luminous areas emerge within the gray background, inspired by the imagined delicacy of Layli’s silken garment and forming a visual counterpoint to the intensity of the red script.

Text / Poem in the Artwork:

“We saw nothing, yet the whole city said:
the tale of Majnun had never reached Layli.”
