About the artwork

Hearing these verses by Rumi in Mohsen Chavoshi’s voice led me to write them in calligraphic form. The phrase “tell the truth, do not conceal it,” with its directness and distinctive cadence, became the starting point for the work.

The repeated Chalipa compositions across the horizontal page carry the poem beyond a single arrangement and create a visual sequence, as though the same words are being heard again in different parts of the work.

Artwork Text / Poem:
“What did you drink last night, my heart? Tell the truth, do not conceal it

Like the innocent silent ones, do not turn your face toward the sky”
